3.0 Litre Update

Tried to get her rolling roaded last week only for a misfire to develop on the rollers and mean no mapping. Appears to have been a trigger wheel problem. Have now managed to get it running off the flywheel and the difference is astonishing. Its now worryingly fast - so much so I'm scared to drive it in case the timing is too far advanced! If it doesn't det. and I can leave as is its going to be one rapid motor. Will try and book the rollers later today.

I take it that you had left the original flywheel sensor in place when you had the extra one fitted? Jonathon is a clever bloke....I take it you have access to all the other bits and bobs he solved when he sorted out my car?
When are you off to the RR next?

The original flywheel sensor was never moved and Tony ran the 3 litre engine on a GTA ECU with GTA injectors just to move the car around from A-to-B. My first task on the car was to change the injectors to the A610 ones. The crank trigger was fitted by Dave's bloke and I ran with it because I have yet to understand the figures on your car (although no argument that they do work - I tried your ignition map on the TT DeLorean and the timing is all spot on). When I tried your trigger config on Tony's it didn't work as well as the aftermarket trigger wheel, but this harks back to pre-rolling road config, and at the time of orignal mapping, the trigger worked fine.

Tony's still needs a bit of tweaking on the throttle pump settings and there seems to be a peculiar 5 minute dead band in the idle control after the car hits temperature where it wants to stall all the time, then works fine.

Am booked in for RR next wednesday when I am sure I will be able to at last prove to the non-believers that I have over 300 bhp - despite the fact that the rollers I'm going to are amongst the lowest reading around (there words not mine - 10% under Power Engineerings apparently) I'll be astonished if its still not over 300 bhp. The crank triggering seems to have advanced the timing somewhat and the difference is very noticeable. Bit reluctant to cane it now in case it blows up! It feels too quick if you know what I mean!

No, leave the flywheel triggers are they are. The Adaptronic works perfect on the original setup and TDC sensor, you just need to follow the instructions correctly :wink:

Cant possibly work! Machine your flywheel....much better :lol: :lol: :lol:

Tony, I dont think anyone disbelieves you have 300bhp, its just that claims are being made for a whole heap more without any proof! I will be disappointed if I dont have 300 when I go back to the RR....but I'm not making any claims til I see it!

I can well believe its got 300+ .It's not a GTA ,it's a 610 with a better looking, less lardy arsed body :lol: :lol: :lol: :wink: Noahfence
I don't think PG's got 300 though :roll: :roll: :P

Well I was up to the 270 mark in the sweltering heat of July with my old turbo at only 1 bar.....Ive now got a bigger turbo, cams done and cold weather and will hopefully beable to run more boost....would you like to take a bet???! As I said, I dont want to jump the gun becuase it isnt even working yet, but it is well within grasp unless you know something I dont!
