Alpine or Alpine???

Postby peterg » Mon Oct 11, 2004 11:47 am

Since getting the GTA I find a lot of people pronounce it (phoenetic) Alpeen and not Alpyne which is how I say it. Which is right....if at all?

Strictly speaking 'Alpeen' is correct, but then most people won't know what you are talking about :?

Alpeen is "French"; so, strictly speaking (as you say) is correct. If anyone asks what the car is I usually say "alpyne" otherwise I have to explain.
