Poorly GTA

There is no bleed valve fitted but i have got one kicking about somewhere, just need to get hold of a decent guage and give it a test!

What boost do you recommend running on a standard engine??

Standard boost level is 10psi(0.7bar). I don't think you can increase it to much more than 11 or 12 psi before the boost limit switch kicks in. You can buy a boost upgrade kit off David Gentleman (Alpine Renault Tuning) which piggy backs onto the ECU and allows you to increase the boost limit to around 14.5psi.

If your ECU has alrady been "chipped" you may find that the standard boost limit of 10psi has been removed. Then all you need is the bleed valve to restrict the pressure to the wastegate and with an in car calibrated boost gauge, set the bleed valve to 15psi, which I beleive is absolute max for a standard turbo. Above that the efficiency of the turbo is just turning all the air to heat which is no good at all.

More than that Simon......at 15PSI your mixture will be getting dangerously weak!

Where is the manual that tells about setting up the timing without using the chain marks? Ive checked mine (and the one on this site that is the same) and can find nothing about it at all :shock:
I was intending to use the timing marks!
