Anyone know of a 'phosphate free' brand of antifreeze?

Not Alp related. My brother has bought a Porsche 944 for a project (needed a new head gasket). He's about to bolt it all back together but he's been told it's important to use phosphate free antifreeze when refilling the cooling system, otherwise it will damage the engine, something to do with the alloy.

I've looked at the back of a couple of antifreeze bottles in the local motor factors, but they didn't mention anything about being phosphate free. Any ideas?

Call the local Porsche stealer or trawel the porky forums?

Google 'phosphate free coolant' or 'phosphate free anti-freeze' - there are a number of options, Valvoline Comma etc all do them

It's an issue for sone VWs too I think. Those with cast iron blocks and alloy heads.

He's trying to avoid the stealer for obvious reasons. It was a Porsche forum where he was told to use phosphate free antifreeze but it was a American site so any info about brands probably isn't the same. Although he's just found the porsche club GB forum, so might have some luck there.
