Any one got a spare one for a Turbo car, or know where one might be?
1986 : '86 GTA v6 BW-EFR turbo, with Adaptronic ECU

Are they different to the ATMO or A310?

HELLLLLLLO,

Any one got a spare turbo flywheel?
Anyone sold a turbo engine, perhaps the recipient has a spare flywheel on their failed engine.

All help appreciated for my winter project.

A customer of mine has just bought a wire eroding machine ( basically a cheesewire for metal ) I wouldn't think it to much a job ,given a wheel ,to reverse engineer a lighter, better one :idea:

£709 plus VAT - got that two days ago. It was indeed an effort not to swallow my tongue...

No they're different from the ATMO and 310 (and DeLorean) in that they have a heat-shrunk trigger wheel on them which is not available seperately.

I'll be looking into having them reproduced.

Martin,
Is the trigger ring "keyed" in any way, I imagine it has to be spot on when replaced. Alternitively perhaps it could be mounted on a rig and bolted back on to the flywheel.

There is a line to align it with but if you're wondering about pulling off the trigger to put on a standard flywheel, it could be done but the little lin thingy isn't on the standard flywheels but you could soon make up a little itiot's tool to line it up - I've been storing the funny washer ring thingy's on the autos for alignment purposes.

Had a better idea for my engine than making flywheels, going in a different direction now

PS have convifmed in the past few days that the Laguna engine has high compression billet pistons and the A610 has cast low comp ones. You can't build a turbo engine crom a Laguna engine without replacing the pistons. bigger.

Not nessecarily, you need to physically work out the compression by measuring the parts. Some of the data in the MR V6 manual is incorrect, for instance, if you look at the crank journal data, it says you cannot regrind even fire cranks, and hence gives no data for it, yet in the column next to them, it puts a couple of the Z7X engine numbers in the regrind list :?: , and also on the piston crown data, it says the 7.6:1 pistons are 'flat' and the 9.6:1 pistons have a 1mm dome.......If it had even a 1mm higher piston (so more overall volume than a 1mm dome), it still wouldnt increase the compression ratio to 9.6, it would be approx 8.4:1.

If you remember Martin, the turbo pistons have a bigger dome than listed for the 2.8 pistons, yet the piston overall height is different, so don't take the dome height listed as being gospel for the compression ratio (as written in the book! :D)

Then again, for all we know, the column that says they are even 7.6:1 could be wrong.. :lol:
