Rear Seat Bolts Wanted

Postby BIG_MVS » Tue Sep 12, 2006 12:07 pm

I'm after the bolts which secure the later style folding rear seats.

Or if anyone can supply details/pictures of them then I can try and source them from a supplier or parts shop.

Cheers,

Martin

Cheers Guys.

David, if you could have a quick look for me I'd appreciate it.

Andrew - I have visited that very car in Great Harwood, could'nt see any of the bolts though, you had the interior didn't you?

Once I have the seats bolted in I can get the Golf Bats in easier with the rears folded down securely.

They normally get pretty rusty. I fitted some stainless ones instead.

Originals are Torx head machine screw M8 thread by about 30mm long. I replaced mine with bolts. Sorry - not sure of the exact length because I had to chop the old ones off from the outside. Relpaced them with bolts that were M8x25 but they were a bit shorter than ideal and hard to get into the welded nut. Torx head jobs might be OK at 25mm long because they sink into the seat mounting whereas the bolt heads are too big and sit on top of the seat mounting bracket.
