Supagard

Has anyone got any experience of Supagard, the paint sealant? Its supposed to keep your car looking shiny for up to 3 years. I think I've read about it being applied professionally and costing a couple of hundred quid. Anyway, a mate of mine told me you can buy it on ebay to do it yourself for less than a fiver. He's done it to his car and reckons it was easy and looks brilliant. I've just bought some off ebay, cost me a fiver, and am waiting for it to arrive. I just wanted to check if anyone has any experience of it.

We used to sell it, but we've got a new product now called Prep-Gard. Supagard is quite good, but Prep-Gard comes with a three year warranty.

I havelots of bottles of Diamond Brite, which is the same stuff as supagard, if anyone wants any £5 for the kit, if you go to a main dealer they want £290!!!!!

I bought some off Ebay last week and I've just cleaned and polished the car. Thought I'd apply this stuff however I would like to know how you got on first?? (I've only just had a re-sprayed and I know that doesnt make any difference but after spending 850 Pounds I'd like some reassurance before I started chucking it on)

Had my C******n C8 supagarded when new as the salesman said "bird crap will just rinse off it and not dry hard and damage paint" cost about £250, like a sucker I fell for it, dont notice any difference regarding bird crap or paint finish compared with both my Renaults which have not had the treatment. Infact, other than a sticker on the windscreen I have no evidence that it was even done at all.

I have it on my car, and it truly does work. I can go out and hose and chamois the car (not even sponging it) and it comes up like it's been polished!

Yep, I found a chap who had experience of spraying fibreglass bodied cars who also was sympathetic when it came to old vehicles - i.e. took some care over touching (or not touching!) the old and now brittle trim and rubbers.
I didnt have any glass panels removed but he still did a very good job in masking around parts.

So it sounds like I need not worry but just apply this supagard stuff and hopefully it should help preserve the shine
