24V Update

Anyone prepared to offer any advice about ideal fuel pressure (currently at 4bar) and larger fuel injectors to achieve the magic 240bhp? :shock:

Rupert, I like the box of Frosties on the back spoiler, Grrrrrrrrrreat, I guess you have been working all hours on it, or some one has?

Um.... are you running the original ECU? You can't increase HP just by increasing fuelling. HOWEVER, all the stock ECUs were mapped for cats weren't they? With an aftermarket ECU, you could gain quite a bit now you've got no cats to worry about (meow). How have you done the exhaust BTW?

Just seen my new toy today, by complete coincidence. I'm just waiting for the local Citroen specialist to transfer their plate off the car, then a Left-hand XM 24v will be mine.... and I know that engine is fine :-) That's a rare car too now (with the funky active steering only ever available on left-hand XM's) so I'll prolly enjoy it for a bit and sell it on.

Chipped ecu

There is a company in France that chips these 24v ecu's - Ian Blacks car has one I believe - not sure what company. Someone like BBR could probably map the ECU on your car for about £500 - not just a standard chip but actually one optimised in your installation.

Ian Blacks car has a remapped R25 ecu, hence why its not running the variable inlet tract. The 24v ecu is a Fenix 4 system, which no-one plays with...

I have a programmable Renault 25 V6 ecu here, with the software and programming lead. It can be reprogrammed as many times as you want with a laptop. It will work on any V6 with the same tooth pattern as the R25. Only has basic programmable fuel and ignition maps against load and rpm. Has no fancy features....

Keep it as it is, if anything, turn the fuel pressure down to around 3 - 3.5bar with 0 vacuum...

Quite a few of the sprint cars I see run Emerald, I think they also sponsor some motorsport events.

They said theyhad to increse the pressure because it kept leaning off at higher revs. I suggested bigger injectors.

So far it is properly set up to 4000rpm.[quote][/quote]

Who's they?. Your injectors are 191cc (same as GTA Lemans), sufficient for 240bhp, but it depends what maximum duty they have set the ecu to run at, ..Bigger injectors would be better than increasing fuel pressure. End of the day you can use any larger injector and decrease the duty time to suit... What fuel pump are you using?
