Oh dear! and what did the gaskets look like when you got the heads off?

Theyre not off yet......I have it stripped down to the point where they are ready to come off...which is where I'm bowing out and leaving Mike to take over! Personally I think its rings, but wont know for sure until its apart. There was no point in taking the heads off (oil already out) and not doing the rings, its only another hours work and will give peace of mind!

I am rebuilding a Atmo engine and got all my parts gaskets, etc... from Renault and the prices were quite reasonable, the only thing i did not get from them was the clutch.

Anyone got any exhaust back box for a atmo???
