Old owner of G800 XLF from Stoke?

Postby GinMan » Wed Jul 19, 2006 11:23 am

Anyone remember the previous owner of this car possibly a Mr Rogers?
It’s a Red GTA T with black leather that was abandoned as uneconomical to repair after an accident and sold on ebay from a scrap yard in Norfolk about a year ago.
It may have been advertised for sale before that in your magazine pre accident and I'd like to contact him re the car and its previous history.
I believe he bought another Alpine so he may still be a club member and if so please contact me via a private message and I'll give my personal details so we can have a chat ASAP.
Cheers Harvey

I assume it's the same car you were talking about in the other thread.

If so it sounds like you've found the answer why the clutch is heavy - a leaking slave or master would explain that. All things considered it sounds like it could be a bit of a dog.

There are good examples around at the moment for not a lot more and bills can easily mount up on a GTA.

if its been cosmetically bodged you've got a baddy there........ if it's been written off and repaired..... check to see if it has an autolign report with it to say it's been checked as straight a hpi check should show it, any repairer worth his reputation would have it autoligned to prove he's done a proper job anyway.... if not steer clear it could end up being a big big nightmare be very very carefull.

Andy when do we get a new thread about the twin turbo Helem? We need more info.

C'mon we're bored and it's too hot to work here!

yes..... he's right i'm afraid..... the rights are owned by a kitcar manufacturer now......

an ally tub same as the original spider...... option of a nice leather interior..... if you like that sort of thing in this type of car...... seats, a steering wheel, pedals, gearstick, and instruments will do for me

you can have a choice of engine...... PRV twin Turb up to ferrari V12 if you want and have deep enough pockets

body is slightly wider and longer to compensate for the v6 or greater lump stuck at the back but the basic beautiful spider shape is still there though. 8)

you can buy it as a kit and build it yourself which starts with a rolling chassis either in fast road spec or race spec minus engine and away you go, or you could buy as a full turnkey ready to rock fully built to your own bespoke spec, a brand new car. 8)

all pieces used are brand new unless you choose to use a 2nd hand engine and gearbox that is..... :?

enough info for ya :?:

but i'd love one of these but they are as rare as Rockin horse sh!t though and change hands in the region of £50k a go.

Yes that is a ferrari v8 in the back of a spider :!:

PS it's 38 degrees here today...... you think it's too hot in the UK  :!:

36.3 degrees official high in the UK today.

So what's the output on the engine then and are you going for a self-build or being lazy. I'd go the lazy option in this heat!

LAZY OPTION of course....... Engine spec still undecided as yet...... something like a Venturi 400 LM spec lump would be nice.......

a venturi in spider clothing...... power and looks perfect 8)
