It can overboost as the charge is more dense from being cooler, much like when you boost on a cold day..

Was thinking that myself, the pipes are really cool now (even with the HOT weather & putting my foot down) still no water flowing but they are cold/cool 8) compared with before when you would struggle to hold your hand on the pipe :?:

I'd expect the CC to be reasonably cool compared to the plenum removed, specifically because it is after the IC rather then before it and away from the turbo rather than right next to it.

All that cool air......................MAGIC.

Also it has a double skin while the standard item is cast alloy so the outer will feel cooler than the original.

But Steve hasnt removed the hot plenum, its still in the engine bay absorbing and retaining the heat. It would be worth insulating the boost pipe that runs right next to the turbo, its a shame to cool that boost down, and then heat it back up again, as soon as it enters the engine. It would be even worse when the car is sat for a while and the heat soak from the turbo builds up...

Just been reading this.....

My CC system seems to warm to the touch at the mo, the main "flask" is luke warm and the pipe into the intercooler is also. The temp drops a little more after the intercooler.

My system is topped up, seems to be pumping the water and is air bubble free so am i just being paranoid?

Well it is a 20+ degree day outside. The rad can only be cooled by the outside air, and the turbo is sucking in 20 degrees minimum. If there are any problems such as the pump not going then it gets really hot, quickly.
