Theres always a class for everything if he decides to make the leap....V6 Spider is what it should have been.....performance and multicylinder engine....I'd love one!!!!

as you have overlooked, one lap wonder Peter, Trackday Andy has 2 race spiders and one road one...... three just in case you couldn't work that out....... one race car can stay as standard if I want to race it as it is still in Spider Cup race trim as original since it was raced in the UK series ecept headlights were added for a race at the circuite de Sarthe...... (the blue one)......... and the yellow one can be a project for the V6

well and the road car...... engine is tuned enough.... just need a six speed box for it to complete the job...... sun's out...... which spider shall i take out today :?: :?: :?:

QUESTION ANSWERED :?:

2 lap wonder to you....or one run up the hill for my preffered discipline....bling man!!!

I suppose it is a bit blingy having 3 spiders 8)

but you is da king of da bolt on bling    slap it on baby :!:

it's sunny ...... taking out road car today to do a blast round the mountains ( not hill  ) with the ACDA 8) La vie est belle

Everything I have is for a purpose...to compete and if possible win...and its working rather well at the minute, no bling whatsoever I'm afraid! Bling is all about show not function.... a bit like having 2 racecars but not racing; stickers that say competition and not competing!!!

so what about those heavy blingy azevs  :? :?:

why have i got 2 race cars :?:

because i just couldn't resist a second one :!: I couldn't say no

Stickers...... a friend of mine introduced me to a guy who works at a little parts company in france ..... and he gave me a couple of stickers so what, we need them to cover up a few scratches on the paint........ if anyone wants to donate some others we will stick them on ( Racing battle scars earned in a real race series.)...
the reason I don't race is I haven't got the time to commit to a series I just can't plan anything at the moment, whilst trying to build up a business, and it costs a hell of a lot of money to run a spider for a year properly to race. £25k or more, other things have a hiogher priority at the moment
1 gearbox service would probably blow your budget for the year :!:
you break a gearbox and need to replace it the wrong side of £6K....

If I'm going to do it I'll do it properly..... we've looked at doing the VdeV endurance series over here better weather and locations...... proper racing you wouldn't last 2 minutes wheras Spiders have competed in the past and been very sucessful, as we know the 2 ltre lump is reliable and can still be quick in competition, and it don't take 2 days to change our clutch, we can do it at the circuit 8)

so we'll carry on playing until the time is right, but if you want to come to a day where "we're playing" we'll still kick your ass

Answers at last!!!! The GTA has had success in the past and lasted whole seasons of circuit racing, but youve missed the fact that they are all now considerably older than your spiders......the engines are quite reliable, but the rest is anyones guess....speed events are relatively cheap, friendly and hassle free as well as less strain on the car...I like to enjoy it as well as fix it!!!! My budget for this year including IOM wont be more than £3500 (providing I dont prang it or break anything major :? )....so yes one of your gearbox rebuilds probably would blow my budget!!
As for the Azevs......the standard wheels dont take wide enough tyres nor will they take the right sizes, so aftermarket wheels were necessary. They were as cheap as I was likely to get....I didnt even go for 17" all round.....if bling was the aim I'd have gone for 18". nWhat would you suggest I do?
As for the challenge to go and play...no time or money for that, and as Ive pointed out before the cars are very different....mine is built to championship class regs and isnt a comparable to your car......you would be pretty gutted if your race spider couldnt outrun my road legal GTA!!! If I borrowed my friends Locohama and turned up you'd experience the same difference.
