:?: Im tempted to extend the N2o Intercooler spray kit to a full nos system, Just got this reply back (see below) im thinking of using the kit with DG's charge cooler and Cams, maybe not for full power but to come in before hitting full boost, + maybe the cooling affect of N2o would be a help.
Any idea with the questions they have put forward? i.e. Re; the wastgate

In order to run his present system as an injection system he would need
the following:

* N2o/fuel injector nozzle & jets
* 2 x injector feed lines
* 1 x fuel solenoid
* Fuel hose & 't' piece
* various 'an' fittings
* Microswitch (throttle activation switch)& extra wiring
* N2o pressure gauge

These parts would allow the present system to be run as an injection
system however he would no longer have use of the spray bar. To still
have use of the spray bar he would need another n2o solenoid and a
couple of 'an' fittings. Before installing an n2o injection system on a
turbo engine it is very important to have a sufficiently sized wastegate
as the boost pressure will increase when using the nitrous. If the
wastegate cannot cope with getting rid of this extra pressure than you
can run into problems.

If you could give me some more info what modifications/upgrades the
engine already has i will be able to let yo know what amount of nitrous
could safely be run through the engine. :?: :?:

Wastegate shouldnt be a problem, you don't get boost creep at the moment, but you won't fully know until its fitted on the car..

As for the throttle switch, the standard throttle pot is 2 microswitches so you could take the feed off the one that triggers at 70%> throttle and have an override switch on the dash.

I tend to agree with Peter on this one :lol: You need to have a plan rather than just keep bolting bits on .I think the Dastek unit etc are good mods as they allow control over an antiquated system to a point ,but nos injection is a totally different beast and will have loads of knock on effects .
It's for the strip and not much else . Unless you is F&F or only using it as a strip/showcar/novelty I don't really get it .

Not extra power as i mentioned, i was thinking of the N2o to come in before the Turbo comes onto full boost, With the charge cooler and cams i would have thought that i would still be well below the 300 Bhp (at the flywheel) that seems to be a safe(ish) limit :?: .

. Unless you is F&F or only using it as a strip/showcar/novelty I don't really get it .

The spray bar does the showcar/Novelty bit Lee :lol: Still need to see what it will do re; the charge temps, But it does scare old ladies when you drive past :shock: seriously iv just got it rigged up and the ic is really cold after a 2 second blast of N2o, will see :)

A) No matter what tuning method you use to enhance engine power, it is essential for optimum results, to first make sure that your components are adequate for the job, that the installation work is carried out correctly and to avoid getting too greedy with the power increase. Failure to comply with the above advice will increase the risk of engine damage. However, if sensible power increases are added correctly to an engine in good condition, there is no greater risk of engine component failure, than there is with any other tuning method. The truth is that done correctly, it is uniquely possible to reduce the stress on key engine components and yet still improve vehicle performance.

Yeh but no but yeh but ...............

You don't really know the state of your engine .If I was going down this route I'd have the engine out and do it properly or be working on a spare :twisted: Will save money and pain in the long run .

For me, "engine tuning" is just like "plumbing", so remember "water is VERY clever". :idea:

Leaks ONLY happen at the weakest joint in your plumbing. Fix the water leak and much as you think every thing is now ok, remember water is very clever and it will leak out of the weakest joint, somewhere else probably or the same place if your repair was poor enough. :oops:

The same in engine tuning when the engine only fails at the weakest point, till that is strenghtened and then some other componant is the weakest point and the next point of failure. :roll: :roll: :roll:

But that will apply to any mod then :?: Charge cooler = more power, Cams = more power, Chip/ECU = more power, Maybe we should all leave them running on standard boost with no mods :)

As all/most N2o companys/Tuners state its safe within your engines capabilitys, not much difference to somone running a standard car and then chipping the ecu, a 25bhp jet before full boost.

Saying that, im not saying i am going to---just a thought :lol:

The V8 (Rover) (TR7 V8)as just been rebuilt at V8 developments and they reckon a extra 100 bhp with Nos would not be a prob, these guys have a 12 Month min guarantee on there engines as well :shock: OK its a new rebuild but they dont run scared with Nos.

A Fast n Furious Alpine :lol: with no neons though :lol: :lol: :lol:

Sure somone on here mentioned that they had a nos kit waiting to go on there Alpine :)

Ok ignoring all that, think about this :

Nitrous + boost + Renault clutch.........

I think the combination of both is going to cause problems, people are already getting slip around 240lbs, and any other tuning mods such as chargecooler etc, are after the turbo comes on boost, but the NOS on launch might bring in some issues..
