Heater

My heater matrix fan/motor is only working on full, position 3, does any one know were to find the relay that controles it. i guess that will be the place to find the problem. :roll:

I think peterg had a similair problem and it turned out to the rotary speed switch. try searching.

There's a little PCB rheostat unit (a few cm in size) that's housed with the motor itself I think.

If this pops then you only get full fan speed, I believe it's actually a VW part if that's any help.

Fan speeds

The fan speeds are altered by a resistor situated in the duct from the fan motor to the heater matrix.
If you remove the cover from above the fan and battery, you will see an electrical plug on top of the duct. Pull the plug off and you will see the resistor.
Now the bad news ..... you will have to remove the fan motor and duct as the resistor is inside the duct, held on by one screw. When this fails you will find that you only have full speed on the fan.

That's the thing I was thinking of. Mine popped years ago when the heater matrix went south.

Is the resistors a renault part that can be found at a renault dealer, or is it some of the more funny stuff that offen is the case with this wonderfull but some times a great pain in the a.. car :lol:

The fan speed resistor is a normal renault part

The part number for the resistor is 6001016274 hope this helps
