GTA turbo ( £8K and 58000 miles )

Postby darrenbiggs » Wed Jan 18, 2006 3:37 pm

I had a delivery this morning and having been to the house before, the 'Parceline' guy asked me how the GTA was running, and then told me he'd seen one for sale in a garage a few miles away. He was so enthusiastic he then went to the trouble of getting his map from the van and showing me exactly where the garage is.

So anyway I went to have a look this afternoon and it seems to be a very clean low mileage example. I had a chat with the garage owner and mentioned the site and told him I'd put a post on about it so here goes.

http://www.percivalmotorco.co.uk/cars/stocklist.html

I didn't have a drive or a detailed inspection but it appears to be rock solid. One or two fixes (delam' headlamp glass) and it'd make a perfect example....... even the speedo works.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

That means if you are tall and sit in the back while steering and controlling the pedels, you still get a seat belt!
Maybe this is why some Fiat Panda cars had a rear sun roof too, so tall drivers do not loose the ability to see over the car in front.

Sorry Sold - all mine for £7 grand. Let you know how she goes when I collect her next week. Who can I call to fix the headlamp lens? Paul Sage is round the corner from me, although he did tell me recently that he was semi-retiring/moving. Better give him a call..........

Bien venu, Wilkommen and welcome to the house of pain!!
Have you got the glass to do the job? (they aint cheap.....re-negociate the price, because a £7000 example shouldnt have broken headlight covers).
I did mine myself.....its a bit of a pain but not too hard.

They're not broken - just delaminating. Guess it's whether it gets through the MOT or not - thats the issue. I can live with it as it's a Sunday car and won't be out in the dark anyway.........
