Yeah, i've seen the beast in the flesh too but always good to see it in action!

However, this has made me laugh, a renault getting hot, who'd of thought it?!

A very silly idea indeed....and copied from Ford who have for decades put F1 engines in Transit vans. I suspect Ford have probably sold a few of theirs on the open market judging by some of the overtaking I see by Transit van drivers! :lol:

watched that clip twice.
apart from "formula one" and "errrr", did the driver say anything.

Yes, but we all know apart from the Transit Cosworth that the fastest car on the road in the eighties was the AstraVan (handling by Bedford). Nothing could touch it, "What''s that in my rear view mirror, oh best pull over it's an AstraVan doing a ton 30...."

White vans

King of the white vans has to be toe Mercedes Vito and Sprinter - these things are very quick (for a van obviously!). Should be getting my new works van in a couple of months which is rapid by all accounts. Citreon Berlingo with the 2.0 HDi turbo diesel, I'll be slipping a bleed valve on that baby and winding in some extra boost!

we have a vito and two sprinters at work and i agree about the vito its very nippy for a van not really keen on the sprinters think hes planning on getting transits next as the sprinters are rusting and there only 3year old :shock:

was also thinking the same with a bleed valve but putting a small pin hole in the actuator pipe so no one knows :lol: :lol:

Calibrated air hole

Its funny you say that because thats how BBR used to raise the boost pressure on their GTA Turbo conversions. They used a calibrated bit of plastic tee'd into the boost circuit to raise the boost 3 psi. Along with removing the boost limiter they claimed anything between 265 and 280 bhp for this conversion and charged upward of £400 in 1990.
