Mine sometimes shoots up to 160mph when I jump start it after flat battery. Don't like the speed mileometer spins round when it does this - with the car stationary!

I'd go for one if I knew it'd fix the problem. However it's a GTA pod so it's bound to be somewhere else in the X feet of loom or amongst the oh-so-clever yellow on yellow wiring.

Actually it must have been a girl who did the wiring because they can recognise fifty odd shades of yellow. Clearly we're all mistaking cornfield for vanilla cream and I think that mine might have the buttermilk wired up to the lemon chiffon by mistake.

So why is it possibly still the coolest car on the road. Because it just is 8)
I'm just here for the gasoline.

After charging the battery over the weekend it seems to have sorted the 'flying off to the 160MPH mark' problem.

Someone on here was going to get a solar panel top-up for the battery.
Did you get it and does it stop this problem?

That was me. :) Yes I did get it. £20 from a caravan and camping shop! The first weekend I got it, my battery was completely dead as the proverbial Dodo. I jump started it, gave my car a brief run, plugged in the solar panel and left it another week. The following week, I tried it, the battery gave a half hearted attempt, but was still pretty flat and didn't have quite enough to turn the engine over. :(

However, it had been a very cold week, the battery hadn't really been charged much and I'd left the alarm on, which I know does drain the battery if the car is not used. So, I jumped started it again, gave the car a good run round all weekend and left the alarm turned off and since then it's been starting fine every weekend, even though it doesn't get driven all week and the weather is still pretty cold. So, I'm guessing, as long as your battery has some charge in the first place and you haven't got any battery sapping alarms on, the solar panel is probably doing just enough to prevent it going flat. :)

red leo you're a jinx! Mine stopped working today, after working perfectly for months and all I can see around me are speed camera signs and I haven't got my Drive-Smart with me to tell me what speed I'm doing either! :( Luckily, I've memorised what revs in what gear equate to what speed! :) A few minutes later, whilst stopped, I took the right-hand air vent out, gave the plug on the side of the speedo a push and all was well again when I set off - speedo working again! :D ... for now

Speedo on the blink again!

And it hasn't even helped with my insurance. Just got my renewal and I was 1600 miles over my limit. oops!

Looks like I'll have to take the multi plug out again ad tighten the connections up, this usually fixes it.

If you have a small friendly electronic shop close by then see if you can buy some switch cleaner. Sprayed on the connections (for me its the LHS connector block behind the dash which I can just manage to get a finger on via the air vent) works wonders.
