Porsche 911 comparison

Postby Juzzblack » Tue Jan 31, 2006 8:41 pm

Always liked the Porsche 911 (my favourite is the 1989-1993 964 model) but never actually driven one. :( Just curious if anyone here has owned or driven one and how do they compare to the GTA/A610, bearing in mind their similar engine configuration and the fact they were sometimes compared in road tests of the time?
GTA V6 Turbo - BTW check your earths!

I have a mate who will not thank me for this as he is a long time editor of 911 Porsche World but the A610 is a king to a pre 993 Porsche in all driving terms but alas probably not reliability or build quality. I did notice his smile when he recently drove mine although he dismissed it as "OK".
Driving an A610 is just so sublime.

On the french alpine renault web site (the one with the mid/dark blue background...if that makes any sense....WHO SAID 'THAT'LL BE A FIRST!) there's a section saying why the Alpine is about the passion of driving whilst the porker is the logic of driving.
Alpine A110, Renault Safrane 2.5dt, Hudson Kindred Spirit (Renault powered), transAlp (Honda) and Ducati Multistrada

Hi there, i"ve driven a couple of 911"s mostly the 3.2 carrera and to be honest i would be faster in that then my own GTA atmo and i also would thing that a GTA turbo could just about stay with it, only just!, but then again the Porsche is 3 times the price. :P
never really ever thought that i would own a gta, but am i happy that i do!!.
