Speedo

Postby Johnhop » Sun Jun 15, 2025 4:37 pm

Hi I know there's a big write up on the speedo, but I've had it in at John Ashley Cars and they think it's most likely the binnacle itself and dry/old solder, but is there a video knocking about on how to get it out so I can send it off to speedy cables for a fix?

And while I'm at it I could do with knowing how to get the air vents out so I can either fix or do a swaparoo on the driver permanent cold feed as I can't shut it off I think the baffles are missing..

TIA..

There used to be a step by step removal guide in pictures here, I think removing the air vents is the first step...is your car a GTA of a 610...heater is very different.
I've never done it but a few of the regulars here have so hopefully someone will chip in.
JohnC was our Speedo (and other electronics) expert but I've not heard from him for a while...you might search for his posts, there will be what you need somewhere in there.
Its more likely to be the connectors attaching the instruments to the look that need a clean that the solder joints, but either are possible,
