Stuart, have you modified the suspension too, I assumed the wider and heavier wheels would make it less refined?

The wheels where my biggest worry and l think i changed the spec 4 times re the offsets on the rear but luckily l have come out with the right result, and the ride quality hasn’t changed which is amazing considering I have gone from 225/55 to 265/40. The front has a standard off the shelf wheel but I didn’t have them machined back to the right offset, as I thought if it didn’t work I could then have cut them back and again the ride is only fractionally harder but I have only gone from 195s to 205, but the tyre missed the back of the wheel arch by a fag paper, and I trimmed the wheel arch right back when I put the extensions in.
The frunt wheels are virtually the same Wt as the originals about 2kg difference including tyres which is amazing, the rear wheel rims also not that much difference in Wt over standard just the extra tyre Wt which is not that different ether.

Sounds like it works well....I guess the Le Mans spec must work with the original angles or Renault would have to have to have provided some more adjustments like rear camber.

Stuart, I have been accepted for Shere too. But now the TR is only firing on 6 cylinders, so have an electrical fault to fix, which looks like a couple of wires burned out on the fuse panel.

The car did sustain Macon rally damage, just put it up on the ramp to try and find out why the rad fans stopped working, removed the lower panel and found the fan had snapped of its rad mountings and span up all the wires and pulled the terminals out, luckily no damage to the rad.

curved blades are normally a lot quieter that straight radial blades.... if that helps you choose a replacement.

Thanks Simon the one that snapped of I think is the original fan so it hasn’t done bad but all plastic goes hard over time.
I fitted a curved blade one next to it a wile back, but Jersey Jhon told me that the wiring and sw are only designed for one fan, so I will see if it keeps it cool with one this weather will be the test.

Well one fan seems to keep it cool. The wife and I whent out for a Sunday breakfast at one of our favourite places, and the car seemed to enjoy the good weather as well as it seemed to have a sparkle in its eye.

There was a chap called Si who’s engine had a tear in its eye.
Poor Si, couldn’t drive his car very far , as the temperature was too high.
Up hills, on the flat the steam and smoke could have choked a cat.
No Prescott or Macon or the Isle of Wight.
Let’s hope he can fix it right ! That poor old chap called Si.
