after a long struggle with the piston rings supplier who first sent me the wrong set (gta atmo instead) and then sent me a rubbish quality set, i eventually bought another set as could not waste any more time and it was going nowhere...
one weekend last month, went up to London to put the block back together with Martin F. He used his new favorite toy and made sure the rings were properly gapped

then we fitted the Cranshaft and set the liners height

then got the liners/pistons/rods together

and in

it's amazing how much you can achieve in a full day dedicated to it, makes a change from my usual few hours here few hours there... great sense of achievement. Thanks a million Martin for your invaluable help, as always.
then back home, fitted the base plate with silicone gasket

and the back plate with new seal
before

after

![Image](http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff520/mogster242/2014-03-13_23-58-15_196.jpg)
splash cover
![Image](http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff520/mogster242/2014-03-14_00-14-01_356.jpg)
Then had to take them off again as the base plate moved when i torqued it up so it was not flush with the block, which would have caused sealing issues when fitting the timing cover... all back together, then oil pick up and sump with new gasket.
probably said before, had both heads skimmed and cleaned
![Image](http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff520/mogster242/2014-03-20_23-02-30_305.jpg)
reassembled the valves
