Facebook barn finds discussion

Postby mettersl » Mon Dec 31, 2018 10:26 am

I get posts from a Facebook group on barn finds and there is a thread running right now with pictures of 3 gtas and a a110 berlinette in it. The welsh dumped car and a couple of others also get mentions.
The first gta is red and in Scotland...it’s off the road and the reg is now on an Audi R8 but it has the plate HOS 93 on it.
But further down the thread someone has posted pictures from Stroud of a yard with a yellow 110 and a green and red gta in it. Red one is a6 tau. Green one ( first green gta I have seen a picture of) is in front of a very sad berlinette a110 in yellow.
This yard has other old stuff in in...anyone know more about these cars?
I have put all the pictures here...

I would hazard a guess that the Stroud stuff would be Chris Rabbets - I assume he's still down there.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Hi all,
That is most certainly Chris Rabbets place,Roadspeed, at Unit 7, Walbridge Industrial Estate
Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 3JU . His unit is in a kind of huge railways arch, as are the other businesses along there. Customers cars are kept in a secure compound on the opposite side of the access road to the workshops

I recognised the Yellow A110 as, somewhere I have a photo of my old Red GTA, F650 RRK sat alongside this A110. My car had been booked in for a new clutch and rear subframe refurb etc and we are going back some 20 plus years. Even in those days there was loads of weeds and brambles growing in and over the A110, I always used to think...what a waste and even today its still parked in the same place at the back of the compound, guess its beyond restoration now...! The current owner of my old GTA still uses Chris for service and maintenance on his car.

Cheers and Happy New Year everyone, Barry.

Anyone recognise any of the GTAs?
Good to know the Stroud ones aren’t necessarily abandoned...
