I was on the opposite side and couldn't believe my eyes! I haven't seen one in ages and was still grinning driving mine after its engine rebuild.
IMHO, Alpines are still the best looking cars on the road and so satisfying to drive. One thing i forgot is the sometimes unwanted attention they receive, either by a car nurd or chav when you pull up for fuel! The Saab Aero is much quicker (in a straight line) but people never move out the way on the motorway, but as soon as people see a bright red Alpine (red ones ARE faster) in their rear view mirror they instantly surrender and move over!
Anyway, hello to who ever it was on the M1, you looked like you weren't hanging about (i call it 'making progress on the m'bike).
