F1 simulator meet??

Postby darrenbiggs » Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:14 pm

Well the Alpine is almost back........ just a few days now hopefully.

So Ace Cafe meets aside, I was wondering whether anyone would be interested in meeting up to to try this:

http://www.puretechracing.com/

I went on Sunday and it's a pretty cool set-up. At £125,000 per simulator I suppose it should be

It's a full on F1 simulator, basically the same technology used by the teams, with 10 'cars' set-up to race against each other - you get about 2hrs in total with briefing, 15mins of qualifying and practice and then de-brief with plots of your session, plus a further 15 mins of actual racing.

The 'cars' are all on jigs so can generate up to 1.5G, plus force feedback through the wheel which practically takes your hand off if you're not paying attention

It's just round the corner from me at Gatwick. I mentioned the club and they said they'd be happy to cater for a group. It's 10 people at a time but obviously you could do two stints and make it up to 20 etc.

£35 each depending on what options you choose. http://www.puretechracing.com/booking/

Anyway just a thought. Could do it as an alternative to the Ace one time or something else a bit different.

Any thoughts?
I'm just here for the gasoline.
