UK Alpine Clubs join forces to celebrate 20 Years of the Alpine A610 at WSR Silverstone.
World Series by Renault - Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st August 2011
Just a reminder to all club members that the Silverstone round of the Word Series by Renault takes place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August 2011. Discount tickets are available for both days and also for the Saturday night Gala Dinner being held at the nearby Whittlebury Park Golf & Country Club.
Members will by now be well aware that 2011 celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the first A610’s being produced in Dieppe.
We have asked Barry Jayes, C.A.R. Club Chairman, if their members can assist in helping to provide cars for a display of 20 A610’s. Within R.A.O.C. we have more than 20 members with A610’s. Obviously some owners are members of both clubs so the numbers of A610’s between the two clubs may be in the region of 30 and a display of 20 cars should be possible with the two clubs working together.
The target is to get 20 A610’s together on 20th August for a special display at Silverstone. Stephen Dell R.A.O.C. President & Barry Jayes C.A.R. Chairman will both be attending in their A610’s on the 20th and we would like to see as many other members of both clubs as possible attending.
If you don’t own an A610 then of course any other Alpine, Classic Renault or Renaultsport vehicle is fine for the general display.
The basic plan is as follows:
1. Attempt to get a display of 20 x A610s together at Silverstone on Saturday 20th August.
2. Special reduced Admission & Gala Evening price for R.A.O.C members and participating C.A.R. A610 owners. £5 Weekend Entry (instead of £10) £32.50 Gala (instead of £37.50)
3. Renault Classic has provided a period A610 promotional movie. This will be played at the Gala Evening.
4. Free Certificate of Attendance for A610 owners.
5. Free professional commemorative photograph.
6. Renault A610 commemorative dash plaques and/or another gift to be presented at the gala evening. The plaques to be free if the target of 20 cars is reached.
7. Special trophy for the best A610. This car to possibly be displayed at the NEC in November. (More information on this later).
8. Possible Parade for A610s – Yet to be confirmed.
