Travel Arrangements for Prescott

Postby Tony Smith » Tue May 22, 2007 3:56 pm

Who's travelling when - might be nice to get a little convoy going. Also I'm on my own so if anyone wants to ride shotgun (quite apt the way it occasionally goes bang when lifting off!) they are welcome.

Cheers Tony

I plan to travel on Saturday morning, leaving Fleet, Hants about 8-8:30 and hopefully arrive abround 10-ish. Such enthusiasm may dwindle if it is raining.

Will be looking to venture into town on Saturday eveing for a meal and warmth, before a night under the stars.

For those wishing to arrive early on the Saturday, I propose a meeting point at Tescos Loudwater, this is just off the M3 at Junction 3 which is at the bootom of the hill.

Meet up to leave Loudwater at 8:30 and we should arrive at Prescott a bit before 10, approx 90 miles.
As it's Tescos, we could do a bit of "provisions shopping" however as it's a bank holiday Saturday morning, it is likely to be busy, so make sure you arrive early enough.

Hopefully this 'convoy' will suit the Londoners and those skirting London via the glorious M25.

define "near"?
lets say "nearer than Belfast"
any way, you need to be there early on Saturday morning.

Just having spent 3 days in wonderful Watford my plan is to go up Friday afternoon/early evening if i can get my self sorted.
The planed route is via Gurston Down to pickup some bits (thats going to confuse some people there!!!) , then A30/A343, A303 on to the A 34 upto M4, A419, M5.
So anyone want a lift?

I was in Hemel Hempstead today, a rather tedious journey home to Hampshire.

CHANGE OF PLAN,
Due to the nightmare holiday traffic that others are suffering this afternoon, and it will probably be just as bad on Saturday morning, the rendezvous has been moved, time and place.

LEAVE at 7am.
FROM M40 J2 (meeting in the layby towards Beaconsfieild).

There is no Tescos in this layby, so do your shopping in advance.
If you are running late, you can try and catch us up as we are LEAVING at 7 sharp.
