I am hoping to be there one way or another and I am also going to try and do Lydden this month as well as previously mentioned in this thread.

Eastly Mark go on you know you want to ....he may not be able to tho' as he is probably on the Die Nordshleiffe mit dem RAOC.

I just had confirmation from the events sec that we are ok to enter even if we are not in any of the championships or clubs mentioned in the regs, but he accepts that we are ACSMC. On the entry form, just leave the clubs/champs questions blank.

Mine is in the post now :-)

A very low key feel to the event today. morning grey cloud and drizzle after a night of heavy rain just added to dampen the enthusiasm. So out I go on wet tyres for my first experience of a wet Goodwood. Made a good start to the practice laps, into the first corner, just checking out what sort of grip is available, change fom second to third and...... FLS! (floppy lever syndrome!). The gear linkage had become detatched from the gearbox which meant poodling around the rest of the lap in second. I have had this before and have kept a regular check on the bolt that has dropped out and have never found it even the slightest bit loose, but loose it must have been, A quick fix though but 2 valuble laps of wet practice gone to waste.
1st timed run then, still on wets although rain now stopped, did a 1.17 which, for me, was good given that I did a 1.11 in perfect weather on slicks last time I was here, So relatively happy, although I knew it would be better had I managed to complete the practice.
So, after luch the track now completely dry bar the odd off line puddle, Slicks on and a tidy, safe run scores a108.63, easily beating my best at the track. Luckily, the lack of entries meant a 3rd timed, and counting for result, run was on offer and I jumped at the chance and it felt good and scored a 106.56 despite a too fast entry into the hairpin slowing my exit onto the fast straight. Still 5 secs faster than my first visit here and second in class so left happy...and wanting more.

Lydden next on July 9th.
