I'm with Peter on this, even though at a sprint/hillclimb event you usually only get about 4 runs (2 practice and 2 timed) there is much more purpose to the driving than at a trackday... This is my feeling anyway. Even if you're not competitive in class it doesn't matter as long as you can knock another tenth off your last time. If you can top three then all the better.
With trackdays I just get bored, fun for a few laps granted, but there's just no point in it except to drive a bit quick reasonably safely. Once you have times and competition it focuses your brain a bit more on what you are doing.
I'll be getting my gloves and helmet out again for a few this year for sure.
Might even pop over to Lydden, one of my favorite tracks. Long way from Plymouth tho!
