Would love to but haven't renewed my licence yet, plus I think my 'Snell' rated helmet is no longer legal ....

Oh and the car is a bit iffy at the mo!

Got Motorsports Now yesterday and MSA have announced the life of the SNELL SA2000 has been extended until 31/12/14!! Good news for SNELL owners. This is despite them previously threatening (in the 2010 yearbook) to withdraw from 1//1/11.

Instead FIA have decided to ban ('cease to recognise!) the BS6658-85 A/FR by 31/12/2013 (the one I just bought!) , didn't see that coming but MSC think it was an unreasonable decision so have extended this nationally to 31/12/2015 for UK.

So if you had a SNELL SA2000 and thought it was about to expire and went out and bought a BS Type A/FR instead you have just been officially screwed!

Also Roadgoing production cars in hillclimbs and sprints must now have a working reverse gear to prevent people running specials. Scrutineering should be interesting!

great news

What, that I have been officially screwed

Will post up some pics of the Penthouse progress in the projects thread. I did want to take it to Macon and/or Prescott but had to abandon that idea a few weeks ago due to the enormous amount of work still required.

When you see the pics (or if you have been to visit recently!) you will see where I am coming from.

If you are not working on a car "right now" then you are not trying hard enough.

And it is "great news" that you have an in-date helmet for the next few years too.
