Red GTA Atmo ex-RATS

Hello all,
Sadly after trying about four million different seating positions and a couple of thousand miles I have to conclude that the GTA just bends my left knee funny and aggravates an old skateboarding injury. Yeah yeah, I know, I should have listened when I was a kid and if someone had said it'd prevent me from enjoying a GTA I'd have stayed off the ramps!

November Update
Anyhow, here's the update, my unpleasant ex has rinsed me through the courts a second time so I need some cash. Also I've been lucky enough to do the two most exciting and rewarding jobs:

Gear linkage bush is now replaced
Wiper mechanism fully overhauled

So it's the handsome red car with the faded bonnet from Lee, it's in happy condition now after gone through the round of grumpiness that awakenings always cause.
I'm Argentina at the moment hence the crappy advert.

It's MOTed (8 months I think)
Good underneath although a paint would be ideal
Oil is good
Water is good
A bit milky in it's left eye
Zooms around happily
Windows work
Cooling fans work
Carbs work!

Something like an offer around £6,000 please!

Cheers all. That photos at my friend's house. The Midas is for sale, it's really nice for a Midas, it's been fully apart and done properly, went well at curbs. Still pig ironed pushrod engined mini weirdness though.

This a nice straight car, if anyone if looking and interested in a GTA this car ticks a lot of boxes for very little money.
It's looks never to have been messed about with and being used to Turbo I was surprised how well it went, sounds purposeful too!
A poorly, sometimes incomplete, possibly rotten GTA of any flavour sits about 3K atm, so double that for a tested, sound car, without any of the usual issues is an excellent buy.
I'd personally put it on OE rims, but they're about S/H and not that minty, three/perhaps four years time this is a 10K car. Better any ISA.

How different is the Atmo from the turbo. Rather used to a turbo on the Volvo Estate (easy to wind up the turbo!) but also used to the low down "grunt" of a Rover engined TVR Chimaera. I assume the atmo is more low down bhp/torque from the larger capacity?

I'm a long way from Cheshire unfortunately, even further from Argentina or where ever you are at the moment though but could be interested.

The Atmo is rarer than the turbo it is lighter and is better balanced, in the bends I think is more fun, as you are not worried about the turbo surging in. It has a smooth power delivery and to be fair there is not a lot in it. If you like the 80s turbo whack don’t get an atmo, but if you like going mad in the bends and instantly on of power with no lag get an atmo.

Thanks, not so keen on the sudden turbo kick but like what the simple addition of an MBC can do....
Like the well balanced idea of the Atmo, I had a Lotus Excel that was perfectly balanced (but leaked like a sieve).
Have an older Caterham that is nicely balanced. The TVR is the one likely to be replaced by the GTA (4 seats more practical for the family) but I'll miss the lazy torque.

I had an Excel a few years ago, the GTA is a more compelling car I think. If my knee didn't hurt I'd be keeping it.
