Turbo from Renault 21 Turbo

Postby Tony Smith » Fri May 14, 2004 7:04 pm

I have a turbo from a Renault 21 in good working order ( I put a cosworth spec T3 on my 21) if anybody is thinking of upgrading their turbo. Looking for about 150 quid but might swap other spare parts. Anybody interested post here or e-mail me.

Tony, is it set up to fit straight onto a GTA? From a previous post there needs to be some sort of re jigging of the spindle to make it fit doesnt there?

21 turbo

The 21 turbo need the compressor, core and turbine housings rotated and realigned and a machined insert need fitting to the turbine housing flange mounting, otherwise it wont seal on the manifold. Most engineering companies can machine one for you and fit it. Actuator needs moving too.

Also, get the housing flanges bead blasted before you try and realign them, because they never seal up true if theres any crap on them and you risk the compressor or turbine wheels touching the housings.
