Electrical Connections

Postby TC17 » Mon Mar 04, 2013 4:30 pm

Hi All

As some of you know I am in the process of rebuilding my T2 into a race / competition car, as part of this build, we are completely building a new loom.

The plan is to use the existing conection blocks but replace all the wiring, the only problem is the spades (male and female) appear unique to Renault as they have a small hole in them so they clip into the plastic conector block.

Does anyone know if you can buy this type of spade and if so where from.

The normal automotive electical suppliers do not do them.

Cheers

Tony

Try your Renault Dealer. I needed connector inserts when modifying my wiring (albeit 20 yrs ago) and I remember the stores produced an electrical book with all the inserts used in Renault cars, and I was able to identify the ones I required, I ordered them. They arrived, and I was able to complete my mod.
I would take an existing one to the garage with, say, a vernier gauge because there are similar ones that are smaller or bigger than the ones you may require, so to be able to check measurements with the book (computer now, I expect) is essential. This is how they come all attached together:-

Hope this helps.

If you can get some pictures posted of the block connector & the terminal size of what you need, I will see what is avaliable from Renault.

I done some checking and can only find the ones in the picture that resemble the terminals that you require, & even then there seems tob limited stocks.

Hi

Can you clarify how many spades do you get under each part number ?

Packs of 5 / 10 etc ?

The availability you mention, is this from Renault ?

Anyone have a friendly parts guy / department you can refer me to ?

Cheers

They are sold on a 1:1 base, each part number relates to a single terminal,
Any Renault outlet should be capable of ordering them if they are willing.
PM your email & I will send a clearer image before you order.
