Twin exit ART exhaust

I have a mountain to climb next year if I'm going to beat the supercharged Elise so I need to shed some more weight off the rear! To that effect I am going to run a pipe straight out of the turbo.
My ART twin exit straight through exhaust is therefore for sale! It is in solid condition, although I have painted it matt black as the chrome on the exhaust ends had faded so much. It would be easy enough to get them re-chromed or to add chrome tail pipes. Sounds absolutely fantastic.

You have a supercharged Honda Elise?!?!?! Yowzers that's a tough nut to crack seeing about the only car that'll beat it is a supercharged Honda powered 340R !

Its a supercharged Lotus Elise (where did you get Honda from??) and its beatable.....certainly I will have him at Barbon, maybe Knockhill and hopefully Elvington.......but he's bloody good on the twisty ones! I will be looking for every possible advantage over the winter.....the only thing I have in my favour is that his car as it stands is at its max (although as he learns to handle the power he gets quicker) while I still have improvements available (where are those brakes DG????!!!!! :twisted: ).

time to change those steel nuts and bolts for plastic number plate like nuts and bolts. Quite a few of the specials I have seen this year use plastic bolts for all sorts on non structural fixings.

Oh sorry, a supercharged K-Series. It's alright, it'll blow up soon.... :-D

The rover drivetrain was common between the Civic and the Rover 200 (basically the same car at one point) which means that the Honda V-Tec and K-Series share size and mounts and stuff.... except the fact that the V-Tec mounts the other way around, the two are interchangable.

The V-Tec has a Honda designed supercharger kit available, and basically anything with a K-Series in it can have a V-Tec S - eg the Aerial Atom was based on the same platform. That too would stand a chance against a V-Tec Elise.

A supercharged V-Tec pushes something in the region of 350hp which in a 340R which weighs only about as much as a suitcase actually starts to touch F1 performance. IF it can get the power down. From what I've heard it'll cheerfully spin the wheels in 4th

I assume you mean Mclaren F1 performace here and not F1 grand prix type performace?
What you must remember is that I raace in a production car formula which means cars have to retain their original engine so a Honda 340R would get kicked straight out. Trust me, a supercharged k-series is fast enough when mated to an Elise. I have no trouble beating ordinary Elises....have even beaten a well set up 190, but this thing has over 200bhp @ wheels and loads of torque.

Are you sure you will get away with that new exhaust :?: Looking at the regs you shouldn't. Down 'ere you won't get away with the twin ART ,intake or even your wheels :? :?

Deffinately YES.

Blue book is the base line, (you need to read the general section and the sprint sections in close detail)
Then championships may have some addional regulations, (read them closely)
Plus some venues may demand other things (you get these withy the entry regulations) Like Goodwood is very strict on sound readings, Loton wanted race numbers on the front of the car too, etc

Don't worry too much untill you start beating every one (these are the guys who have read the same rules as you).
