Peter, I viewed this car about 4 months ago. It was on ebay for about 3.5 - 4k buy-it-now, but it was a bit tatty especially a lot of overspray at the front end. Perhaps all the "little things" have been sorted now and it a repectable looking example. Trouble is, all cars look great on ebay, but when viewed it is a different looking car.

I don't think its too bad at all, perhaps I'm biased though as it used to be mine!!

Its actually a reluctant sale. The new owner has just spent a LOT of money on it but needs the cash as a result of a business venture.

So could be a bargain for someone, although realistically I would expect it to be removed if it doesn't reach at least £4-5K now.

Admittedly it didn't look very pretty when Simon came to see it. I hadn't even cleaned it as he was possibly interested in one my other cars. After a week of polishing and with all the newly painted bits bolted back on it looked very well :D

You are taking the p!ss arent you??!!! This one has been up for sale for 6 months (it was featured in Retrocar and still no one bought it).......its a rare turbo 1 and the bloke has painted it in disgusting colours and put in a fairly tame Rover V8 in place of that mad revvy turbo engine......why would anyone want it????

Yes, I agree. Although in his defense It was apparently in a really terrible state when he got it. But there's little excuse for the engine and no excuse possible for the colour. I read the Retro car article and (if I recall) got the feeling he would like to keep the motor.

If someone is really interested then they could make an offer ex engine and an A610 motor would really make it move. It'd still look like creme de menthe puke tho....

I posted it for interest sake, not as a serious proposal.

when my 6 numbers come up, A proper turbo 1 will be an early aquisition.

Cheers

Nice A610 engine would improve it....and a respray in a colour not reminiscent of of 1970s wall paper!!!!! I reckon hes selling it because the only class in speed events its elligible for is sports libre....and thats a class mostly populated by Radicals and Mallocks, and he will be getting killed!!!!!

Re the Rover engined, Kermit coloured 5Turbo

Thinking (OK dreaming about it), A tweeked 21 turbo may be a better fit.

Yellow Turbo om Ebay

Postby Lee » Sun Jul 04, 2004 12:15 am

£4002 to be exact. Cheers, I do. Its sitting in front of my Atmo right now, Same colour! Bit tatty here and there but will look great with my atmo's Fagix Alpinaut split rims 285x40 rears, 205x50 fronts. Gonna pinch the brand new Ledas off the atmo too. 12 point adjustable with adjustable spring platforms (to drop it a tastful bit) and 30% stiffer too. Got a spare radio so thats sorted and a full set of suspension bushes that will take slightly longer to fit! Will leave the braided hoses and call David about another set. Needs a bit of paint (front spoiler, pillars into roof and door openings to mint it plus ns headlamp glass (would rob the atmo again but its only slightly better) and a screen if being really fussy. Then back here for "more power" advice. First turbo and quite pleased. Wife NOT! Doesn't want hers ha ha. Anyone after a yellow atmo needing work?Nice speaking to you all.
GTA atmo owner.
