I watched this auction with interest...it reminded me of one of those lost baggage auctions where you don't know what the suitcase contains.

Given the DMC provenance...the buyer should perhaps check the door panels for cash and narcotics... ;)

There's more than one DMC test mule out there, one had the auto gearbox for John Delorean himself.

Yes I have seen or heard of several but Barrie says that only two were run long term by Delorean themselves as company cars.

I'm just not sure that the provenance adds that much.

You wouldn't have thought so but it made more than double a more or less identical car that was in better condition with a set of nearly new Gotti wheels worth £1500 on their own and there is nothing else special about it. Delorean memorabilia makes obscene amounts of money on ebay. Having said that it maybe someone just got carried away with auction fever.

Who knows we may even see it relisted next week when the buyer sees what they have bought...

The fact it was a DMC car might be its saving grace ..literally ..possibly bought by someone with more money than sense .. :Butt
I hope it does get saved though I do have soft spot for the 310. There will be some DeLorean owner that will pay way over odds but personally the fact it was owned by DMC wouldn't add any value to me.

I'm not sure it was too far off the mark price wise. I would have thought £4.5-£5K would have been about right for Ebay.

Credit where it's due though, it was a totally honest advert and hopefully someone gets to put it back on the road.
I'm just here for the gasoline.
