Carbon fibre GTA parts.

Postby Tony Smith » Sun May 14, 2017 6:46 pm

Well nearly :0). My side vents and windscreen scuttle were the usual faded grey mess, and the vents had a few cracks and damage too. A friend of mine had some parts hydrodipped with good results so I thought I'd give it a try since you can't buy new anymore. Very pleased with the result. You have to look very hard to see they aren't genuine carbon fibre. They are lacquered so won't weather and they have made the vents feel much stronger and rigid. Can have more or other bits done if required.

That's really tidied up the vents :-)

Shame you can't dip the whole bodyshell... would be a quick fix lol.

You can dip panels if they have a large tank.

£50 per item so £200 for what I had done. Vents needed a fair bit of prep work and both are complicated shapes. He did say he might be able to do something on the price if I had a few done.
