Who's had their GTA the longest?

Postby Tony Smith » Sun May 16, 2004 7:35 pm

I was wondering what the longest period of time any of us had owned a GTA for. I'll have had mine 14 years on the 30th October, anybody longer?

More than 8 years now for me.

(I find it best after that length of time to avoid looking at the folder full of receipts)

Not me either,,,,,but judging by the amount of money ive had to spend on it must equate to about 20 years of normal car ownership!!! does that count? (but shes worth it  )

I purchased mine in August 1989 - Do I hold the record? I still use it everyday and would be lost without it.

Ordered mine in June 1989 (does this count) took delivery on September 1st 1989 due to the garage breaking a headlamp glass in the showroom.
I don't use it every day anymore, just for playtime!

Is that allowed 8)

Simon I'll bear that in mind 8)

Unfortunately I've never been in the enviable position of turning a GTA over that quickly. Anyone who's ever owned an atmo will lay testament to that :(

In total around 8 GTA's from between 1-5 years each. So on average probably about 14-15 years worth of 'consecutive equivalent' ownership but feels like a life time

Tony can add a few more years on if he includes his short term investments as well

Would probably have had my 3dr cossie 17 years now if a frightened passenger hadn't pulled the handbrake on and put me through a brick wall backwards  but then there wouldn't have been this forum...

In fact I should go and look for that previous car thread and add my list of 'interesting' vehicles!
