Rolling 40 year VED exemption can't be bad and TBH not having to repeat SORNS will save me a lot of potential fines!

Yes that might be the case, but at least Italy and I think many other European countries are fair when it comes to cars over 25 years. They have a set fee for road Tax £50, no matter which engine size.
I don't expect free tax, but with the miles I do in my cars and most classic cars enthusiasts, a lower road tax would be a more fair deal. Anyway we all know we are a lot more greener in keeping these old snotters on the road rather than buying a new car.
