GTA Engine Bay Covers

Postby blueg33 » Mon Sep 24, 2012 9:54 pm

Has anyone done one with a see through panel in it? If so what material has been used, I am tempted to give it a go as Lee has made me a nice shiny engine.

Heat proof toughened glass is what I have in mind (I have it behind the hob at home as a splashback). How hot does the engine bay get?

If anyone has done it a pic would be nice

Bottom carpet cover or top cover?

If you mean the carpet one just leave it off. Job done.

I meant that top carpet one.

I am sure I had read somewhere that leaving it off causes issues?

You can leave it off with no problems .I ran for year like that .The rear glass does sometimes explode but that is age .
The only carpeted cover I can find is for an Atmo ......I think it's just case of cutting the underside for the cooling fan/ducting inlet/outlets .

Mr Dell ? where are we with that polycarb rear ? I thought it was ready so didn't ask my guys to look at doing the F40 style .............

Simon Best has done it to his yellow phase 1 Clio V6 and I really like it, been asking him to do my 610 one for years now, but still no luck  I will try and attempt to do it myself as I have a few covers, once I finish the rear end refurb.
