Side air vents....

Postby rupert » Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:29 pm

On the atmo, the near side one runs to a blower fan for the engine bay.

Does the off side one actually go anywhere? There's a big circular hole on the inner wing in the engine bay but I'm not convinced that the air gets down there from the side vent...

On the turbo version, the off side vent serves as the air intake for the air filter box / canister. The nearside serves no purpose.

The Atmo probably still has the large hole in the inner wing (off side) but air intake is directly from the filter assembly on top of the carbs.
