New book by Vicky Butler Henderson

Postby turbodog » Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:14 pm

Vicky Butler Henderson has just published a new book "Her hundred best cars" and includes an Alpine 610 amongst them and states that the car should be called "Alpeen" as opposed to "Alpine" and the model number as
A SIX TEN ?!

Clarkson also rated the 610 in his top 100 cars a blue one appeared in his video LOL then he smashed a top example of the mark into solid concrete block  People will do anything for money.

Got a copy of this book today. It's well worth a read. The report is very complimentary. She says she goes 'weak at the knees when I even think about this car' and that it 'gives her a lot of pleasure when I see the odd one passing by'.

She thinks it would still fare well against today's competition in a cross country dash and that she'll always have a soft spot for it.

A really nice book, hope it sells well for her. 8)

Does she mention the Venturi 300 in the book by any chance?

I remember seeing her on Top Gear testing one on a track against a Honda NSX and she squealed with delight as she drove the Venturi stating she just loved the "turbo nutter" sound as it whistled just behind her head while she hung its back end out around the bends.

Her opinion at the end of the test was buy the Venturi and with the £10,000 left over buy a Honda Civic to run about in.

What a girl!! If only she could cook.

Mark I'm sure she does mention you in the book, how could she not?
