Postby BIG_MVS » Thu Aug 26, 2010 8:42 pm

Anyone changed this for non OE?

Renault want over £60 on back order for the air filter  It's different than the GTA one as per. Anyone fitted something different like a K and N?

Thanks Derek but it looks like it's different to the GTA one. In the parts book it looks like the 610 filter is attached to the filter box itself?

Can this be removed from the housing and then replace with a GTA/25 Turbo one?

Martin, just take out the old filter and go down to your Auto factors with it.
You know it will be a cheap Saturday morning job :D

You can bodge a Renault Trafic one but I haven't found a perfect fit.

There is of course no guarantee that the filter material is the same spec, probably is though.

Looks like you are going to have to spend £60 Longdrop
Seeing as how it'll last for as long as you own the car I don't see the issue myself

I need one quite badly too. I wouldn't mind spending the money but Renault seem unlikely to actually find me one.

The £60 isn't the issue. It's the back order part, as we know that usually means they keep you hanging on for 6 weeks then turn round and say it's not available.

The point of my post was to find out if any other 610 owners had managed to find an alternative. Obviously not!

I'll just see what the old one is like when I do my service and hopefully it will clean up OK.

My parts system says your dealer does not market this part for both versions (complete and filter only).

Yes it's the same as GTA Le Mans,

Looking at the cross reference it may be master rather than trafic.

Green could be a nice option.

If anyone has the reg number for a 21 turbo diesel I could look that up also on Renaultparts.

According to Euro car parts it is a Bosch 502745110 which they have in stock for £13.50!
They also have a cheaper one at 7.50 unbranded. Sounds like its a Renault Master part (like 90% of the gearbox and other bits).

Must have a look at mine- new when I bought the car....a few years ago.
