Peugeot/Renault 24v - UN1 box

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Apr 13, 2010 9:37 pm

I heard a rumour there is an adaptor kit around to mate this engine to a UN1 gearbox - anybody know anything?

Venturi made their own bellhousing for the Atlantique 300 BiTurbo.

Which engine are we talking about PRV 24v or the Clio V6 unit?

Thought the Venturi was PRV?

Tony means the current PSA V6.

Venturi were dropped in the poo a bit when PRV stopped production, and they cobbled together a modified version of the new offering from PSA with twin turbos. IIRC only twelve 300 BiTurbos were built. There's a photo somewhere of one of the engines hooked up to the UN1 and shows what looks like a billet machined bellhousing.

prv 24v

Postby Tony Smith » Wed Apr 14, 2010 4:10 pm

Ideally I'd like a prv 24v but to say they are thin on the ground is an understatement. Just want something to drop straight in for 200-250 bhp. The Laguna 12v engine was that fitted transverse or inline?

Tony,
I have a Laguna 3 litre engine in my GTA (courtesy of simonsays + mr dini) with low pressure turbo working well. lots of small engineering jobs butt no major issues. Talk to simonsays and he can fill you in.

The only inline 3 litre PRV went in the A610 and Venturi.

And transverse PRV's can be converted to in line by changing the peripherals. Laguna 12v PRV has coil packs in place of a distributor so either needs converting or a adaptronic to run it. If you can retain the original manifold it looks to be much free-er flowing that the GTA turbo/A610 designs.
How about a 12v supercharged unit with the original manifolds and a free flowing exhaust. Not economical but it could be very fast and no lag.
Good luck....

Tony, speak to Richard Walsh.... I think he might be getting something in the pipeline to do this.
