Upgrades

Postby Ramo » Sat Jan 15, 2005 5:01 pm

So meanwile David can start upgrading my engine by fitting:-
- The race exhaust.
- An induction kit.
Is there any thing else I can upgrade while I'm waiting for the ECU that won't be obsolete, or involve doubling up effort, in the sense of taking it off and putting it back on too many times. :)

Wheels, suspension , brakes...

Postby Tony Smith » Sat Jan 15, 2005 7:00 pm

Bigger wheels on the front make them handle mutch better, coil over suspension, or lowering springs and Konis, drilled and grooved discs, aeroquip hoses, big brake kits with 325mm rotors available soon. Some sort of boost controller would be worth getting too, bigger intercooler or chargecooler.

David does a very smart set of adjustable shocks/springs... (much cheaper than the spax kit I bought!) and this will lower the car by as much as you want (within reason) and improve the handling no end.
When you do that work you might as well get all of the suspension bushes checked/replaced too. Once you have more power, if they are on the way out they will soon need doing.

All looks good so far. They are looking into if the Citroen/Safrane/Peugeot ecus can work too, as they are easier to source, and they may be able to get round the factory immobiliser problem...
