There are pictures on Pistonheads in the Alpine section.

Don't fancy teaching people to drive in the A610 Alex? That would be an interesting experience! :o

I know there was the 197,000 mile A610 that sold last year for rediculous money but what is a high mileage for an Alpine? Mileage isn't that important to me, it's more important how the car has been looked after but can anybody beat 197,000 miles in their Alpine?

I'm sure some people's alpines could beat 197k if their speedo's were working properly

Cool. Should be a bit of life left in mine yet then :D
When I had my R25 web site, I had a guy from the Netherlands who sent me pictures of his 987,000km R25 (about 650,000 miles!!!) Don't hear of many cars that have done more than that!

Hi folks. If anyone's interested the car has now developed a problem with one of the lights not popping up. Typical! I don't think she wants to be sold! And i got a puncture the other day so the skinny spare is on. Looks ridiculous.

Here's some more pics:

Oh, and the Mileage is actually 114850. Don't know why i thought it was 118! Anyone got a fix for that light by any chance?

Alex

Two years ago I'd have been up for that but I've no space!

Is it the same one that Jamie in Scotland (who was on this forum a year or two ago) used to own?

I don't know if this is of any help at all, but I know how much money the 610 headlight mechs are (assuming it's not an electrical problem!)

Does the motor have a Bosch part number on it by any chance? When I needed one for my Venturi, I X-reffed it to a BMW windscreen wiper motor and got a brand new one for about £100.

With the headlights on (and the other one up), if you twiddle the manual screw, does it suddenly wake up and move?

Yes I think it was his, did he not want another one recently? Might be worth asking him if he wants to buy it back again

Yes it did used to be Jamie's. He's a nice fella, he was very sorry to see it go. He was talking about buying a GTA when he sold it to me.

The light goes down now and again, but it won't go up. It doesn't want to go up automatically when i twiddle the screw thing either. How do i get to the mechanism? Is it covered over inside the boot? There is a lot of plastic there with those really annoying French screws all over the place.

Mr Dell- I'll bear you in mind when i find out if it's electrical or what.

Cheers,
Alex

The mechanism is American from a GM car- Dodge?? so the motor is unlikely to be a Bosch part.
I had a look at mine last night- there is only an assembly number on it. Will try and Google the number when I get a chance to see what comes up, but the motor itself looks to be screwed together for disassembly, so you may be able to fix it.

it does sound electrical rather than mechanical... I really need to have a closer look at mine, unfortunately it ain''t where I am at the moment, till the figaro gets sold!
