Alpine on Whealer Dealers?

Postby Wrightbr » Wed Oct 22, 2008 10:05 am

New Series starting on 28th Oct 9pm on Discovery Real Time. Just found the following text on discovery realtimes site re new series:-

In this new series Mike and Edd have decided to broaden their horizons. So the Autobahn of Germany, the Autostrada of Italy, the Autoroute of France and the Motorväg of Sweden all feel the boy’s wheels as they head out into Europe in search of classic cars to buy and restore.

Imagine finding a Porsche 356 in a German barn, or racing across the Cote d’Azur in a Renault Alpine, both bought for rock-bottom bargain prices! That’s what Mike will be trying to do. But, being so far from home he has to be extra careful not buy a dud, especially as in each case he has to drive the car he’s bought back to the UK.

Will all the purchases make it back to the workshop for Edd to work on? And, if he gets them there will Edd be impressed with the quality of what Mike has uncovered? In addition the boys will give practical advice about buying abroad, showing us innovative ideas to transform classic cars and for the first time use car auctions, specialist dealers and ebay to sell the finished motors.

Looks promising? Anyone from the club involved?

From the advert there is no Renault Alpine there :? They usually do 6 cars per series and I can see a Lotus Esprit, Fiat 500, Old Mercedes SL, Citroen DS and a Land Rover, not sure about the other.

You never know though

Would be 8) if they do feature an Alpine!

I'll be watching anyway. Always enjoyed watching wheeler-dealers. A great programme. :D
