i have finally made some pictures of my 89 alpine (had to borrow a camera). is there somebody out there, who can tell me how to get a picture in here?

i think ive done it. appreciate it, david, i never worked with pictures before.

anyway, the car has been on the road (and track) for five years. it cost me a head gasket to set up the chip and then another one to set up the motec. the engine is original and bulletproof. the week point clearly is the drivetrain. even the third reenforced cluch eventually started slipping at 1.2 bars, so i ended up with a set up, where the boost would rise from 1.1 to about 1.5 bars with engine speed.

I feel dizzy :? :shock:

I think the engine must be bulletproof, as Im sure if I let off a few rounds, I doubt I would actually be able to hit it... :lol:

Roman, I have a feeling you have taken a whole straight 6 manifold and turbo setup off a Skyline GTR and have it going straight across the back of the enigne, and then in some way hooked up the V6 manifolds into the Nissan manifolds?

I dare not ask :wink: with the gordini topic getting into full swing re power figures :) , What bhp figures are you getting at 1.5 bar? it certainly looks :twisted: :)

no, all is home made and the system is sequential including a controlvalve i made myself. i used a stepper motor to controll it, but when the electronics died on me, i went back to a wastgate actuator. the collectors are stock and the downpipe is 4 in.

you have good eyes. however, i am impressed, as the blowers are some ceramic nissmo units, supposedly designed as an upgrade for a gtr, which year i dont remember (ive done this 10 years ago).

Ah, I see, you have a 4" downpipe because you have combined both turbo's together. It would have been easier to go for two singles.On the other thread, we thought you were talking about putting a 4" downpipe on a single turbo GTA :wink:

Yes, those are Nissan T28s, I wondered why you staggered the pair at the back of the engine, as this is the same turbo/manifold arrangement as you find on a Skyline RB26 engine, strange that you have done this on a GTA, let alone the space issues...

Do you have any dyno plots of the engine?

ill blow everybodys doors off on my bi-cycle gt.

no, seriously, all i measured was 370 hp (DIN on the wheels on a bosch dyno) with boost set to 1.2 bars (dontknow if it really stayed there), the timing retarded by two degrees and a pretty warm intercooler (liquid). my best quess is 450 hp, as long as the clutch would stay with me.

i am not a horsepower chaser and these runs are pretty hard on the alpine, as on any other rear intercooled car (just ask the porsche crowd), so i dindt make any further attempts. for every 5 minutes standing the liquid intercooler heats up by 10 C° or so. on the other hand i would really make all out runs in the cold season only, when intercooler temp would stay around 20 C° and the engine wouldnt see anything above 40 C° on the intake side.
