Oil pump

Postby spryboy1974 » Mon Jan 15, 2007 11:16 pm

Does anyone know the difference between the atmo and turbo oil pumps?
Is it just a case of a different spring tension or are they geared differently??

I think they're geared differently .Seem to remember the 2.8 were bigger toothed .I'll measure or  trace round the turbo ones here and you can compare the two .

Alpine Spirograph!

The oil pump on the 'atmo' (as in Z6W) and the Z7U are the same, the one Lee has is a 25/Volvo V6 (remember the old 'bigger oil pump thread' ) which has a lower static and running oil pressure..so don't fit it to a turbo engine.
