You can get a Quaife ATB for the UN1 gearbox, orignially engineered by Kevin at GTO and very popular among the Esprit V8 crowd

..and the DRE Gripper ATB diff for £720...

While I'm first to admit doughnuts are good fun they really don't sit well with rear engined cars with lots of traction. Even with an LSD you couldn't get a GTA to go round like that without putting massive strain on the transmission - the tyres are a bit more expensive too! Front engined rear wheel drive, skinny tyres and little weight best for drifting.

I'd quite like an LSD....handy for what I do, but its not top of the list....brakes are first (I should say second after an engine that works!!)

Jeees... are tyres extra cheap in Ireland?

just bought an ATB diff for the hillclimb car.

also getting final drive from a R20 4.1-1 i think!

and also using different gear ratios for 3rd 4th and 5th

the standard gta 'box is crap for hillclimbs and sprints, open diff and terrible gear ratios.

hope this will let us use a few more gears, instead of 1st 2nd and 3rd!

do you have or want an alpine? i am in belfast and will have a grey turbo for sale soon!

Id keep your current 3,4,5 and they are very evenly spaced on the atmo box and just go for the final drive and ATB.

I'm a big fan a these cars and was seriously considering buying one a few months ago but I was offered the right coupe at the right price and could'nt refuse

sell the tut tut, buy a cool car!

I'll agree with you the alpines are a cool car, but the twincam can take all the abuse I can throw at it and it wont bankrupt me if I stuff it or blow it up
