Wiring Diagram For Whole Car - Or just the rear fuel pump

The rear fuel pump on my GTA Turbo is not receiving any voltage.
Were not sure if its the immobiliser, although the you can hear the front fuel pump spin into life when you unset the the immobiliser.

Or maybe there's a break in the wire.

Fed by one of the relays underneath the ECU. Should run for 10 secs or so when you turn on the ignition and then power off (assuming you don't start the car).

A test bulb on the terminals at the pump end is a good way to go when trouble shooting.

Where are you checking the voltage, at the pump?

Check it before the supressor and the connector plug, and cut it out and hardwire anyway, as they are nothing but trouble..

Ive never known anybody to immobilise the fuel pump. The ecu sends a pulse to the fuel pump relay, which switches power to the pump. On most cars, when wiring in an alarm/immobiliser, you can intercept the fuel pump wiring, as the ecu is usually at the front of the car, and the pump at the back, but where all the wiring and trigger is at the rear of a GTA, its cumbersome to do...

Thanks for the responses, we've already checked the relay, and this is fine.

The car broke down on the road, so the recovery guy wired a feed from the heated rear window as a temperary measure. This worked fine until the heated rear window fuse blew.

Yes i've checked the voltage before the fuel pump and suppresor, I checked it at the plug end.

Wheres best to hard wire it from ????

Check your alternator is working properly and check your earths, especially the battery one. :)

I meant just cut out the connector and suppressor and solder the wires back together, as both of them can cause voltage drops.

Ok.

But theres no voltage at the connector what so ever, we tested it with a volt meter and continously turned the igtition key so that the dash lights came on, no power what so ever. Obviously the car wont start as there's no petrol getting through.

Where does the Fuel pump get its feed from ??? Is it from the ECU, or straight from the ignition barrel ??

Looking at the wiring manual, turbo car yeh?, there should be a black and white wire from the pump, they both go to a 2 terminal black connector block. The black wire then goes to the alternator earth point. The white wire then goes off to terminal c2 on a 6 (3x2) terminal black plug socket, labeled as R116 (only labeled in the manual, not on the car.). Then another white wire goes to connector 5 on R17 which is a black 5 inline connector. Then the white wire goes to the "injection relay". This is where it is complicated to explain....... but the IR is next to the "fuel pump relay" and both are wired into the ECU plug.

That is 9 connectors between the FP and IR/Alternator.

It "looks like" the way to tell the 2 relays apart is that the FP relay has 5 wires going into the connector and the IR only has 4.

I can email you a scan of the page, but not till tomorrow.

I just noticed that the "anti-theft switch" is on the same page and it is connected to both relays.
However, if you have a voltage on the relay, then you should have one on the pump too.
It's reday to take to work tomorrow.
